About

Gavin Fridell received his PhD in Political Science at York University (2005) after receiving an MA in World History (1998) and a Bachelor of Environmental Design (1996) from the University of Manitoba.  His areas of interest include international political economy, international trade and development, comparative and global food and agriculture politics, fair trade and free trade, global value chains, the politics of Latin America and the Caribbean, global governance and North-South relations.

He is the author of Fair Trade Coffee: The Prospects and Pitfalls of Market-Driven Social Justice (University of Toronto Press, 2007) and several articles on international trade and development.
