About

Brute materialist,  pragmatic atheist, paranoid skeptic and hopeless realist.

More Hobbes than Hegel, more Weber than Derrida, more Mill than Lyotard.  A wayward child of the enlightenment who delights in the fact that we made it all up and convinced the world it was true.

Most likely to be found hanging around with critical scholars and the various "Po's" despite my overall hostility to their politics.  They simply write and converse in an interesting fashion and never talk about stats.  I learn a great deal from the questions they ask and the critiques they raise.  They have my respect and admiration, and I tip my hat to them before proclaiming "En garde!"  I even married one of them just so I would have someone interesting to argue with at all times.

Current research focus is on the virtual realms and the expressions of humanity that construct them.  I am interested in: how people (dis)organize, how contextual "space aka the e-vironment" influences behavior and identity, the material nature of the virtual and the  fuzzy border between the real/surreal/unreal worlds.
